12 New Releases // February 2026

The 12 new releases significantly kept my book buying down last month. With some on this month’s list already pre-ordered, I wonder if I can be just as selective.

If you don’t know why I started doing 12 new releases, please read January’s blog post.

A top-down, slightly cluttered photo of several paperback and hardcover books scattered on a textured, mustard-yellow sherpa or fleece blanket.

Visible titles include: One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune (center), Icebreaker by Hannah Grace (bottom center), Books and Bewitchment by Isla Jewell (bottom left), Finding Love in Ivy Falls by Amy True (top left), and The Bookshop Below by Georgia Summers (right).

Parts of other books like A Serial Killer's Guide... and The Keeper of... are partially visible beneath the main stack. The lighting is bright and warm, highlighting the colorful cover art.
My February TBR possibilities

Below are February’s 12 new releases, spanning fantasy, romance, cosy reads, literary fiction, and mystery. A little bit of everything, just the way I like it.

Books and Bewitchment by Isla Jewell

“Rhea Wolfe lives a quiet and ordinary life in small-town Alabama with her pet cockatoo, Doris. Everything changes when her estranged grandmother dies and leaves her an unexpected inheritance. Along with it comes a magical heritage Rhea never knew she had. This draws her to Arcadia Falls, a mountain town her mother warned her to avoid. There, Rhea begins to plan a new life and dreams of turning a closed video store into a bookshop. With help from the town’s friendly handyman, Hunter Blakely, she starts to feel settled. But Arcadia Falls holds secrets tied to her family and its magic. As the town’s future becomes uncertain, Rhea must decide whether to embrace the power she was born with.”

The Night Prince by Lauren Palphreyman

“Dark forces are rising and Princess Aurora is caught between powerful rivals. She may have survived the Wolf King, but his hold over her is not broken. In her fight to change the fate of the kingdom, Aurora and Callum forms a risky alliance with Blake, one of the most feared Wolves in the land. Blake is her enemy, yet their lives are dangerously linked. As Aurora struggles against a bond she does not want, she begins to sense hidden truths and deeper schemes at work. The fight is no longer only about who rules the Wolf Throne. Something far older and more dangerous is awakening. With both kingdoms at risk, Aurora must decide who to trust and where her heart truly lies.”

The Forever Home by Erica James

“Set in the Cambridgeshire countryside, Hope Hall was once a grand country house and is now a collection of luxury apartments. As new residents move in, three women begin new chapters in their lives. Cassie is deeply in love with her partner, Ben, and hopeful about their future together. Yet memories from her first marriage still linger. Nina, a gallery owner, is searching for a fresh start after losing her husband. Moving forward means facing a painful choice that could hurt those she loves. Then there is Venetia, a lively woman in her late seventies with a fondness for secrets. As her past with Hope Hall resurfaces, the three women find their lives unexpectedly entwined through friendship, honesty, and the courage to face what came before.”

The Baby Dragon Bookshop by A. T. Qureshi

“Emmy has an enemy and his name is Luke. She avoids him whenever she can, which is just as well. Seeing him is far too distracting. Emmy is focused on growing her dragon powered business and has no time for romance. That changes when she and Luke seek funding from the same local investor. The investor sets them a challenge to prove their skills. They must work in a struggling baby dragon bookshop. Emmy throws herself into the task and is determined to win. Making a bookshop safe for baby dragons is harder than it sounds. As problems grow, Emmy and Luke may need to work together. Their rivalry soon begins to feel far more complicated.”

A Sociopath’s Guide to a Successful Marriage by M. K. Oliver

“A woman has a dead body in her living room. She has not called the police, because she is the one who killed him. He is not her husband, though her marriage is far from perfect. Instead, she is focused on maintaining the life she has carefully built. She wants the best school for her daughter and a dream home in Hampstead. All of this must be protected at any cost. As her plans threaten to unravel, she balances everyday ambitions with an extraordinary problem. Keeping up appearances has never been so complicated. Darkly funny and sharply observed, this story explores how far one woman will go to preserve the life she believes she deserves.”

The Barbeque at No. 9 by Jeannie Godfrey

“It is the summer of 1985 and the residents of Delmont Close are gathering for a neighbourhood barbecue. They plan to watch Live Aid together on what feels like a historic day. At number nine, Lydia Gordon is determined to host an event that reflects her perfect home and family life. As neighbours arrive, long held secrets begin to surface. New arrival Rita is searching for a fresh start. Steve, a young Falklands veteran, struggles with his past. Mr Wilson seems too charming to trust. As the day unfolds and tensions rise, Lydia is forced to face uncomfortable truths about her own life. Behind the neat houses and friendly smiles, everyone on Delmont Close has something to hide.”

The Killing Time by Elly Griffiths

“Ali Dawson is a police detective who leads a unit solving cases so old they require travel to the past. Time travel has been banned since a mission went wrong and their technical expert, Jones, was lost in Victorian London. Restless and frustrated, Ali turns her attention to a modern case involving the death of a young man. She suspects a link to a charismatic psychic who claims extraordinary powers. While investigating, Ali is drawn into events that blur the line between past and present. When something close to home goes wrong, she takes a reckless risk. It sends her back to Victorian London once again. There, she reunites with Jones and encounters familiar and unsettling figures. As old questions resurface, Ali must navigate danger, secrets, and unfinished business.”

A Dark Forgetting by Kristen Ciccarelli

“Emeline Lark dreams of life on the stage, far from her small town and its old superstitions. But the forest’s song calls to her, pulling her back toward the place she hoped to leave behind. When her grandfather disappears, Emeline must return to Edgewood and face the mysteries of the forest. Even the brooding Hawthorne Fell, a feared tithe collector, cannot stop her from following her path. Her journey leads her into the court of the legendary Wood King, where a dangerous bargain awaits and the stakes could not be higher.”

I’m Not the Only Murderer in My Retirement Home by Fergus Craig

“When former serial killer Carol moves into a luxury retirement home, she hopes to start fresh with a small group of new friends. Keeping her past hidden seems possible until she discovers that almost every resident has a law enforcement background. Soon her secret is exposed and when a former police commissioner is murdered all suspicion falls on her. Determined to prove her innocence, Carol must unravel the mystery while her friends begin their own investigations. In a home full of secrets nothing is as it seems and danger lurks around every corner.”

Witch Trial by Harriet Tyce

“When 18-year-old Christian Shaw is found dead in an Edinburgh park, the city is in shock. The police quickly charge her best friends, Eliza Lawson and Isobel Smyth, with her murder. As the trial begins, rumours of bullying give way to darker whispers of rituals, obsession, and a teenage pact gone wrong. When the girls take the stand, they reveal a chilling defence no one expected. The jury must question everything, from the evidence to their own judgement. Who is telling the truth, who can be trusted, and what really happened to Christian Shaw? The witch trial begins.”

The Witch and The Wolf by Lindsey Kelk

“Since arriving in Savannah, Emily Bell has faced prophecies, werewolves, family secrets, and even her grandmother’s attempt on her life. Yet, surrounded by friends and her new family, Savannah has never felt more like home. Now, with her love Wynn struggling with his new werewolf abilities and the task of finding her fellow witches to prevent a looming prophecy, Emily faces a deadly new threat. A lone wolf is determined to destroy her, and she must act quickly to uncover its identity. Emily soon realises she cannot face this danger alone and that some burdens are lighter when shared.”

And Now, Back to You by B. K. Borison

“Jackson Clark likes his life neat, predictable, and best experienced from the comfort of his radio booth. Delilah Stewart prefers hers wild, spontaneous, and always in the heart of the action. For years they have clashed like thunder and lightning, until they are forced to work together covering the snowstorm of the century. Delilah offers Jackson a deal: if he helps her succeed, she will help him rediscover his long-lost sense of fun. As they navigate the assignment, their rivalry gives way to an easy and unexpected friendship. But when deeper feelings begin to surface, they must decide if they can weather the storm or if some things are meant to stay in the mountains.”
