VT Reedle Shot 100 Essence // The August Review
Today I’m reviewing something a little different; the VT Reedle Shot 100 Serum. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous! Anything involving the idea of tiny needle-like particles going onto the face sounds slightly terrifying, doesn’t it?

VT Reedle Shot 100 Essence (Double Pack) – RRP £29.23
The brand describes the product as:
“The REEDLE SHOT® formula refines rough skin, giving it a smoother appearance. Use as the first step of skincare. At night, a special care skin enhancement cosmetic containing VT’s proprietary ingredient ‘CICA REEDLETM’ that boosts the skin and improves skin condition in areas requiring intensive care, significantly smoothens and refines skin texture, and enhances the skin’s ability to deeply and quickly absorb nutrients for a more nourished and vibrant complexion.”
Pros:
- Leaves my skin feeling smoother.
- Helped refine the feel and appearance of rougher skin.
- Leaves a lovely, healthy-looking glow.
- Leaves skin feeling hydrated.
- I actually like the lightweight consistency.
- I like the tingling sensation.
- The 100 strength is intended for daily use, making it a good starting point if you’re new to the Reedle Shot range.
- It available at UK retailers like Boots.
Cons:
- The tingling sensation isn’t for everyone.
- It can feel quite strange when you first use it, and some people may find it uncomfortable.
- You need to be careful about what else you’re using alongside it, particularly if you already use lots of exfoliating or active products.
- It isn’t something I’d recommend for sensitive skin.
The Verdict:
I have to admit, I was very intrigued by this one. Anything called a Reedle Shot that claims to use tiny needle-like particles on your skin is going to make me wonder what I’ve signed myself up for!
But once I got past the name and the slightly strange tingling sensation, I actually really enjoyed using it. My skin feels smoother, softer and more refined after using it, and I love that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling stripped or overly dry.
The tingling is definitely worth mentioning, though. I didn’t find it painful, but you can absolutely feel it. Particularly when you first start using it.
Overall, I think this is a really interesting product and another example of Korean skincare doing something a little differently. Would I repurchase? Yes. It’s not necessarily a product I’d tell everyone to rush out and buy. Especially if you don’t like tingling sensations or have a very reactive routine. But for me, it has made a noticeable difference to how smooth my skin feels.
My Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5 Stars)
