TATCHA Dewy Cleanse + Hydrate // The August Review

TATCHA has been high on my beauty wishlist ever since I discovered it’s a favourite of Nicola Coughlan. I mean, have you seen her skin? Radiance goals. So, when I finally got my hands on the Dewy Cleanse + Hydrate duo, featuring the Rice Wash face cleanser and the Dewy Skin Cream moisturiser, I couldn’t wait to try it.

The image shows the Tatcha Dewy Cleanse + Hydrate set, featuring a tall pastel-lavender squeeze tube of “The Rice Wash” standing upright beside a round frosted-lavender jar of “The Dewy Skin Cream,” which has its lid removed and placed to the side, revealing a smooth, pale lavender cream inside. Behind the products is a matching rectangular box with soft lavender tones, the Tatcha logo, and the product name “Dewy Cleanse + Hydrate” printed on it. The overall presentation is clean and elegant, with a soft colour palette and gold text accents.

TATCHA Dewy Cleanse + Hydrate – £29.00 RRP

The brand describes the product as:

“Soften and plump the complexion with Tatcha Dewy Cleanse + Hydrate, a skincare set that includes the Rice Wash cleanser and the Dewy Skin Cream moisturiser. Creating a rich foam, this cream cleanser works to wash away buildup without stripping the skin. The Rice Wash is powered by Japanese rice powder and an amino acid base that works to cleanse the skin gently. Infused with hyaluronic acid, the Dewy Skin Cream works to replenish skin with long-lasting hydration, which helps to reduce the look of fine lines. Suitable for all types of skin, Tatcha Dewy Cleanse + Hydrate works to leave skin looking softer and plumper with a dewy, healthy-looking glow.”

Pros:

  • Perfect size for testing the products or taking away when travelling.
  • A light scent that’s pleasant without being overpowering.
  • The cleanser leaves skin feeling thoroughly cleansed yet soft, with no tightness.
  • The moisturiser glides on smoothly, absorbs well, and leaves a hydrated, radiant, dewy finish.

Cons:

  • Full-sized products are on the pricier side, making them more of a luxury purchase.

The Verdict:

I’m so impressed with TATCHA as a brand.

I’ve had issues in the past with rice washes leaving my skin feeling tight, but this one doesn’t. It lathers beautifully and feels gentle. It’s an apply-to-wet-face cleanser, which is quite different from what I’ve been using recently, and while I was pleasantly surprised by it, I’d still see it more as a second cleanser in my routine.

The moisturiser, on the other hand, was the real star of the duo. It’s so light yet incredibly nourishing, leaving my skin soft, smooth, hydrated, and dewy.

While I’m unsure if I’d repurchase the cleanser at its £41 RRP, the moisturiser is something I would definitely buy again.
