TATCHA Clarifying Cleanse + Hydrate Duo // The August Review
Alongside the Dewy range, I couldn’t resist trying the Clarifying duo. I was curious to see how they compare. And, more importantly, whether the cleanser could help balance the oils on my face without drying it out.

The brand describes the product as:

The Matcha Cleanse is a daily gel cleanser crafted with willow bark, kyo-matcha, coix seed and mugwort, which works to clarify skin while balancing the skin’s oil and pH. The Water Cream helps to smooth the skin’s texture and refine pores while moisturising the skin. Pros:
- Perfect size for testing the products or taking away when travelling.
- Has a light scent that’s pleasant without being overpowering.
- The cleanser balanced the oils on my face. Perfect for the current UK heatwave.
- The moisturiser was hydrating and nourishing.
Cons:
- Full-sized products are on the pricier side, making them more of a luxury purchase.
- Although hydrating and nourishing, the moisturiser was on the thicker side, making it better suited to the autumn and winter months.
The Verdict:
Tatcha has something truly special about it.
I loved the cleanser. It’s so hard to find a clarifying formula that effectively balances oils without leaving my skin feeling dry, especially during the current UK heatwave.
The moisturiser was hydrating and nourishing, leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth. However, its thicker consistency means it’s better suited to the autumn and winter months when skin needs that extra boost of care.
I’ll definitely be trying more from this brand.
