Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye Brightener – RRP £23.00

The brand describes the product as:

“Brighten the undereye area with the Rare Beauty Under Eye Brightener, a makeup formula that works to hydrate and awaken the under-eyes. It provides sheer to medium buildable coverage for a fresh, radiant look. Featuring a metal cool-tip applicator, this lightweight liquid formula can be applied by gently gliding the applicator across the undereye area before tapping to blend the product in seamlessly. This eye brightener can be applied to either bare skin or layered over concealer. Rare Beauty Under Eye Brightener is a vegan and cruelty-free makeup product that can also be used in place of a highlighter to add subtle brightness to the complexion.”

Pros:

  • Brightens.
  • Can sterilize the applicator.
  • Lightweight.
  • Doesn’t crease.
  • Sits well on top of skincare and under foundation.

Cons:

  • Doesn’t have a huge amount of coverage.
  • On the pricier side.

The Verdict:

I am very on the fence about this product. Do I absolutely love it? Yes. Do I need it in my everyday makeup? No.

I have been dying to try Rare Beauty for so long and I was able to pick up a few bits with a gift card from my brother. It did take me a while to be able to order all the products I wanted, as the brand sells out fast.

I didn’t originally have this on my to-try list. But I really like the idea of a product that could help my dark under-eyes. This works really well on its own and with my other makeup products. Really like that it isn’t a doe foot applicator as it’s easier to clean. It did brighten my under-eyes and it didn’t crease.

As someone who works remotely, it isn’t a product needed for everyday use. Which is where I find it can be a waste. Not just by it going out of date, but financially. I could have picked up another item to try.

Overall, I would recommend this. I probably will pick it up again when I have an event or a holiday.

As always, thanks for reading…
