Numbuzin No.9 Nad+ Retinol Volumetox Eye Cream // The August Review
Today I’m talking about the Numbuzin No.9 NAD+ Retinol Volumetox Eye Cream. I’ve seen this one popping up quite a lot in Korean skincare content, so I was intrigued to see whether it would live up to its packaging claims. And, spoiler alert, I was pleasantly surprised!
Numbuzin No.9 Nad+ Retinol Volumetox Eye Cream – RRP £16.00
The brand describes the product as:
“Part of Numbuzin’s skin-smoothing No.9 line, the NAD Retinol Volumetox Eye Cream (10ml) is a cream-serum hybrid designed to restore visible volume, firmness and luminosity to the eye area.
Developed with NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) technology, this treatment lifts tired-looking eyes to support a brighter, more awakened illusion. Rich in retinol, it minimises the signs of fine lines and deepened crow’s feet, as niacinamide and an impressive fifty peptide blend plumps and illuminates. With a precision pump applicator, dot the cream under the eyes and tap in for hydrated, healthy-looking skin in an instant.”
Pros:
- Smoothed my under-eye area.
- Brightened the appearance of my dark circles.
- Left the skin feeling soft and plump.
- This has a lovely consistency. Creamy without feeling overly heavy.
- Does everything it claims to do, and then some. A great example of why I always take skincare claims with a pinch of salt. Skincare is subjective, and what works brilliantly for one person may not work for another.
Cons:
- Accessibility of the packaging. This is definitely a two-handed product. The packaging makes it difficult to use one-handed, so it may not be suitable for anyone with limb differences or dexterity difficulties.
The Verdict:
I really, really like this eye cream! It has been a brilliant addition to my skincare routine and, for me, genuinely lived up to the claims on the packaging.
Of course, skincare is subjective. What works brilliantly for me might not work the same way for someone else, which is why I’m always a little hesitant when a product makes a lot of claims. But in this case, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed using it.
I’d also say this is a great alternative to the BIOHEAL BOH Probioderm 3D Lifting Eye & Wrinkle Cream I previously reviewed. One big advantage being that the Numbuzin is much easier to get hold of here in the UK, with Boots stocking it, which makes repurchasing much simpler.
I’ve also come across this particular eye cream quite a lot when watching Korean skincare content on TikTok. I often find myself wondering whether the products being heavily promoted online are actually popular with Korean skincare users themselves, so it’s always interesting when I repeatedly see the same product being recommended by Korean skincare creators.
My only real criticism is the packaging. It is definitely a two-handed product, which is something brands need to consider when designing skincare packaging. Aside from that, though, I have very little to complain about!
