e.l.f Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm // The August Review
I am back with The August Review, and it’s kicking off the month with a throwback favourite, e.l.f. Cosmetics. This brand was a staple in my early makeup days, so I thought… why not see what their skincare line has to offer?

e.l.f Holy Hydration! Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm – £11.00 RRP
The brand describes the product as:
“Melt away the day’s makeup for a squeaky-clean feel. This solid makeup removing cleansing balm melts into a luxurious oil, then transforms into a nourishing, milky texture that rinses off clean. Your skin will feel silky smooth, and soft.”
Pros:
- Affordable.
- Effortlessly dissolves makeup.
- Doesn’t leave skin feeling taut.
- Smells lovely.
- Not sticky.
- Good product size for the price.
Cons:
- A thicker consistency.
The Verdict:
I was genuinely surprised by this! I’m getting the same results as I did with The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter. It melts makeup away effortlessly, leaving my skin feeling clean but never tight or stripped. The scent is lovely and fresh without being overpowering.
The texture is quite thick, which isn’t a personal favourite. Some may find this too much for the summer months, but I can definitely see the appeal for the winter.
Overall, it’s affordable, well sized, and honestly… a bit of a gem.
