For today’s Calendar Countdown, we’re taking a look at Charlotte Tilbury ‘Charlotte’s Hollywood Beauty Wonderland’ Advent Calendar.
As always, these posts are based on my own opinion. I’ll be comparing the calendar with previous versions, other advent calendars on the market, and most importantly, whether I think you’ll get your money’s worth from the products inside.
I don’t buy every calendar I feature because, quite honestly, that would be a huge waste of products! Instead, I’m looking at them from the perspective of someone who loves beauty, has years of retail experience, and thinks advent calendars are a great way to discover new brands and try products you might not otherwise pick up.

How does it compare to last year?
Last year’s calendar was priced at £175.00 and contained 12 products. This year, the price has actually dropped by £5.00 to £170.00, while the number of surprises has increased to 15.
The stated value has also increased, going from £260.00 last year to £325.50 this year. That’s an increase of £65.50 in value, while you’re paying £5.00 less! However, there’s a bit more to consider when you look at the sizes.
This year’s calendar includes six products officially listed as full size, with the remaining beauty products in travel size, plus the makeup bag and gua sha accessories.
When it comes to repeats, I found six exact product repeats from last year’s calendar. There are also products that are similar to things we’ve seen before, but I haven’t counted those as exact repeats where the product or shade has changed.
And then there’s the packaging. Moving on from last year’s gold chest, Charlotte Tilbury has gone all-in on the Hollywood theme with a red and gold star-adorned design. It’s also designed to be reused as a jewellery box or keepsake, which is something I always like to see with more expensive advent calendars.
Who would I recommend this to?
This would be a good choice for you if you:
- Love Charlotte Tilbury makeup
- Want to try some of the brand’s most recognisable products
- Like a mixture of makeup and skincare
- Enjoy travel-size products for trying before committing to full-size
- Like reusable advent calendar packaging
- Have £170.00 to spend on a beauty advent calendar
I’d probably skip it if you:
- Have a strict advent calendar budget
- Already own lots of Charlotte Tilbury products
- Prefer calendars with mostly full-size products
- Don’t like receiving makeup in travel sizes
- Bought last year’s Charlotte Tilbury calendar and don’t want repeats
- Wouldn’t personally use most of the products included
My Thoughts
At £170.00, this year’s Charlotte Tilbury advent calendar is still a significant investment, but I actually think the price is one of the more interesting things about it this year.
Unlike last year’s calendar, the price has dropped by £5.00, while the number of surprises has increased from 12 to 15 and the stated value has risen from £260.00 to £325.50. That’s a pretty good change on paper.
The product selection is also very Charlotte Tilbury. I particularly like that they’ve included the new Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Stick, as it gives the calendar something that feels a little more current rather than relying entirely on the brand’s older bestsellers.
The biggest downside for me is the number of travel-size products.
There are some brilliant Charlotte Tilbury products here, but if you’re spending £170.00 on an advent calendar, I think it’s reasonable to want a decent number of full-size products. Especially when it pairs with a high number of repeats.
Six exact product repeats isn’t terrible, particularly when you’re getting 15 surprises this year rather than 12. However, if you bought last year’s calendar, you’ll already have a number of the products included.
For someone completely new to Charlotte Tilbury, I think this calendar makes much more sense. You get a good introduction to some of the brand’s best-known products without having to buy each one individually. For existing Charlotte Tilbury fans, I’d say it’s more of a “how many of these do I already own?” situation.
Overall, I think this year’s calendar is an improvement in some important areas. You’re paying less than last year, getting more surprises and a higher stated value, and there are some lovely new additions. For me, this one is still sitting on the fence. There is a lot to like, but at £170.00, I’d want to be confident I’d use the majority of what’s inside.
