A Day Trip To Merry Hill
Today, I took a trip to Merry Hill shopping centre, and it honestly has everything you could need in one place. From big brands to hidden gems, there’s such a variety that you can easily spend a whole day exploring.

One thing I really appreciated was the amount of facilities, restaurants, and seating areas throughout the centre. It’s super practical and accessible for a shopping trip. You can take breaks, grab a bite, and carry on without feeling rushed. I even tried my first Slim Chickens when there, and for sure will order there again!
What makes Merry Hill even better is that it’s not just about what’s inside the main centre. The site also has outdoor stores and even a separate retail park across the road packed with more options.
It’s a great starting point when picking up essentials for a new home, with something for all budgets. With places like B&Q, ProCook, B&M, Homesense, and The Range, you can kit out a whole house in one go!
Halloween House ????
The reason I wanted to go? Halloween House! If you love Halloween as much as I do, it’s a must visit. It really is a one-stop shop for costumes, makeup, merch and décor. I could have walked away with at least eight new T-shirts… but I was good this time!
The atmosphere in there is amazing. The displays are set up perfectly, with animatronics dotted around to spook and entertain. Watching the staff interact with the animatronics and the kids was brilliant, it created such a fun, immersive vibe.
I tried snapping photos of all the different areas, but with so many people and little ones excitedly running around, I just captured what I could. My favourite part had to be coming across their “cemetery” set-up. I thought it was such a clever and brilliant touch.

Honestly, I could have bought everything in there. I was genuinely close to coming home with all the book cats after I nixed the idea of buying the t-shirts. It’s that kind of place where you start planning how you’d display all the decor and animatronics in your own home… even if you have no space for them!
Homesense
Of course, a retail shopping park with a Homesense means I had to go through their Halloween section. I was looking for some Halloween home bits, and picked up a brand new mug! I took a few pictures to share what decorative stock they had this year.
Honestly, I would have to kit out every room in a different colour theme because I want it all…

That giant pumpkin with the open mouth really caught my eye. How perfect to store sweets?
Whether you’re shopping for your home, shopping for yourself, picking up seasonal bits, or just looking for a fun day out, Merry Hill really does tick all the boxes. It’s practical, varied, and caters to every budget. But for me, Halloween House stole the show. I’ll definitely be back for more spooky finds!
As always, thanks for reading…
