Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Setting Spray // The August Review
After a week of makeup items, I thought to round up The August Review with Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Setting Spray.
Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Setting Spray – RRP £20.00 (50ml)
The brand describes the product as:
“Extend the wear of makeup with Milk Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray, a dual-phase makeup setting spray that works to hydrate skin and set makeup for up to 12 hours. Giving skin a breathable, glassy glow, it locks makeup in place while leaving skin looking and feeling refreshed. Formulated with blue agave extract, this setting spray works to grip and set makeup, while hyaluronic acid, hemp-derived cannabis seed extract, aloe and niacinamide work to hydrate and refresh skin. Moringa seed oil helps to lock in moisture and leaves the skin with a glassy-looking glow.
Suitable for all types of skin, Milk Hydro Grip Set + Refresh Spray is a vegan and cruelty-free makeup product that contains no parabens, alcohol, fragrance, gluten, sulphate, phthalates or talc.”
Pros:
- Sets makeup without creating texture to my base.
- Long lasting.
- Doesn’t feel sticky or too wet.
- Doesn’t make my makeup run or smudge.
- Smells lovely.
- Lightweight.
Cons:
- Can be pricey to purchase.
The Verdict:
Funny story about this product. I didn’t mean to order it! I thought I was getting the hydro grip primer to try and instead, I clicked on this item. And I’m not mad about it. The only reason I was picking up a primer, was to test another type of primer with the Rare Beauty base products. It became a blessing in disguise as my MAC Prep + Prime setting spray was running low!
I have only ever used this as a setting spray. I’m not a huge fan of spray products to prime the face. I like that with a balm, cream or silicone primer, I could top up in small areas if needed.
Having never tried Milk Makeup products before, it’s safe to say you will see more of the brand soon. I love how this is lightweight, sets my makeup, doesn’t need topping up during the day and doesn’t create texture. If their setting spray is this good, I’m excited to try the primer!
As always, thanks for reading…
