12 New Releases // April 2026
I have many pre-orders this April, plus it being the month of new releases, I would pray for my bank balance.
If you don’t know why I started doing 12 new releases, please read January’s blog post.

Apologies this has gone out a little later than planned. I have had a few website bugs that have hopefully been all sorted. Here are the 12 April releases I am most excited for…

I have included the title, author and synopsis of the books in the image above, below:
The Book Witch by Meg Shaffer
“Rainy March is a third-generation book witch sworn to protect works of fiction from magical interference. With her enchanted umbrella and feline familiar, she travels in and out of stories to keep them on course. Book witches follow strict rules. Never interfere too deeply, stay too long or fall in love with a fictional character. Rainy has broken that final rule. She has fallen for the Duke of Chicago, a fictional British detective from her favourite noir series. When their relationship is discovered, she is forbidden from ever seeing him again or risk losing her magic and her place in the coven. When a priceless book is stolen from her home, Rainy turns to the only person she trusts to help her get it back. The Duke. Together, they journey through beloved literary worlds, chasing clues and uncovering secrets tied to Rainy’s past. As danger closes in, Rainy must choose between the rules that have always defined her life and the love that could cost her everything.”
The Faraway Inn by Sarah Beth Durst
“When sixteen-year-old Calisa arrives at her great-aunt’s bed and breakfast for the summer, she expects something cosy and welcoming. Instead, she finds a run-down inn and a grumpy, eccentric Auntie Zee who refuses to let anyone interfere, despite clearly needing help. Determined to prove herself, Calisa sets out to restore the inn and earn her place there. Along the way, she enlists the help of the groundskeeper’s handsome son, and the two grow closer as they work. But the longer Calisa stays, the more she senses something isn’t quite right. The inn and its residents feel strange, almost otherworldly. It isn’t long before Calisa discovers that the B&B is hiding a magical secret. As she digs deeper, she uncovers truths that change everything she thought she knew about the inn and her family. Some secrets, once uncovered, cannot be undone. And once Calisa opens this door, there may be no turning back.”
Chasing The Fire by Paisley Hope
“Laurel Creek’s fire chief is used to keeping flames and feelings under control, but one woman threatens to unravel it all. Olivia Sutton is the town sweetheart and owner of a popular boutique, known for her warmth and charm. Beneath her polished exterior, she secretly longs for someone who can take the lead and challenge her carefully ordered world. Asher Reed, Laurel Creek’s fire chief, thrives on discipline and control. That control slips whenever he’s around Olivia, the one person he can’t seem to resist. A single moment changes everything, leaving them facing an unexpected future neither of them planned. Determined to handle the situation sensibly, Olivia and Asher agree to spend more time together as friends. But as their connection deepens, it becomes clear their bond is anything but simple. With emotions rising and secrets threatening to surface, Olivia begins to wonder if Asher could be the future she has always wanted. Now they must decide whether to risk everything for a chance at something real or walk away before they get burned.”
The Ending Writes Itself by Evelyn Clarke
“Six authors. One private island. Seventy-two hours to write the perfect ending. When world-famous author Arthur Fletch dies, his final and most anticipated novel is left unfinished. Soon after, six struggling writers receive an invitation to his secluded Scottish island with an irresistible challenge. Whoever can complete the story with a worthy ending will win a life-changing book deal and two million dollars. Each of them arrives with ambition, secrets, and something to prove. But as the clock ticks down and the pressure builds, questions begin to surface. Why were they chosen? Who is truly behind the competition? And what are they willing to do to win? With only a typewriter, a blank page, and seventy-two hours, the writers must race to craft an ending that will define their careers. But on an island full of rivals, where everyone has something to hide, the real story may be far more dangerous than the one they are trying to finish. Because this time, reaching the end might come at a deadly cost.”
Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke
“My name is Natalie Heller Mills, and I was perfect at being alive…” Natalie has built a flawless life online. From her picturesque farmhouse to her handsome cowboy husband, every detail is carefully curated for her followers. Her sourdough loaves are perfect, her home is artfully styled, and her life appears effortlessly idyllic. What no one sees are the nannies, producers, and hidden work behind the scenes. Then one morning, everything changes. Natalie wakes up in a version of her life that looks the same but feels deeply wrong. Her home, her family, and her surroundings are familiar, yet unsettling in ways she can’t explain. What seemed perfect now feels distorted. As she searches for answers, Natalie begins to question everything. Is this some kind of elaborate setup, a reality show, or something far more sinister? The only thing she knows for certain is that this is not the life she created. And if she wants to survive, she has to find a way out.”
The Caretaker by Marcus Kliewer
“Macy Mullins is desperate for work, so a strange caretaker advert offering three days of high pay is impossible to ignore. The listing feels unsettling from the start, but with bills to pay and her younger sister depending on her, Macy can’t afford to turn it down. The job takes her to an isolated house on the Oregon Coast, surrounded by dense wilderness and far from civilisation. What seems like a simple, if unusual, side gig quickly turns into something far more disturbing. Strange occurrences begin to pile up, and Macy realises there is something deeply wrong with the property. An incomprehensible presence lingers, watching, waiting. As the line between reality and nightmare begins to blur, Macy uncovers a set of ominous instructions tied to the house. Follow the rites. With time running out, she must decide whether to obey or resist. Because whatever is hidden there is not just a danger to her, but to everything beyond the forest.”
Stay For A Spell by Amy Coombe
“Princess Tanadelle longs for a life of her own choosing, far from royal expectations. During a visit to the quiet town of Little Pepperidge, her wish is unexpectedly granted when she is cursed to remain inside a run-down bookshop until she discovers her heart’s true desire. Rather than despair, Tandy embraces her new life among the shelves. She hires a teenage assistant, Sasha, and settles into the cosy rhythm of running the shop. Things would be almost perfect if not for Bash, an infuriatingly charming pirate who keeps turning up with a curse of his own. Meanwhile, back home, panic sets in. With Tandy missing and her royal duties abandoned, the King and Queen send seven princes to rescue her, each determined to break the curse with a kiss. But as the princes arrive one by one, Tandy begins to question everything she has been told about love, destiny, and what a princess is supposed to want. Because perhaps a prince isn’t the answer at all.”
You Should Have Been Nicer To My Mom by Vincent Tirado
“When the wealthy Abreu family gathers for the reading of their patriarch’s will, they expect inheritance disputes, not a warning. Papi Ramon’s final message is clear. One of them is el bacà, a demon he made a deal with, and it must be destroyed before it dooms them all. Xiomara, his former favourite and the least trusted member of the family, watches as the others dismiss the claim as madness. But when a storm traps them all inside the house, escape becomes impossible, and the weight of his words begins to settle. As the hours pass, long-buried secrets surface. Scandals unravel, tensions explode, and suspicion turns inward. What begins as a tense family gathering quickly spirals into a night of accusations, violence, and murder. With paranoia rising and no one to trust, Xiomara is forced to confront the terrifying possibility that the demon is real. To survive, she must uncover the truth hidden within her family and face what lurks among them. Because if she fails, the evil in the house will not stay there. And time is running out.”
How To Cheat Your Own Death by Kristen Perrin
“Annie Adams travels to London to visit her mother, expecting a simple trip. Instead, she finds a body. Fliss, a young artist her mother had been mentoring, has been murdered. Annie has experience solving cases, and something about this one feels disturbingly familiar. The method mirrors a decades-old crime recorded in the journals of her late Great Aunt Frances, whose friend was killed in 1960s Soho in the exact same way. As Annie digs deeper, the past and present begin to collide. Clues hidden in Frances’s writings point to secrets long buried, while danger closes in around her mother. Threats begin to mount, and it becomes clear that Laura may be the next target. Worse still, she is hiding something. Moving between the gritty streets of 1960s Soho and present-day West London, Annie must piece together the truth before history repeats itself. Because this killer has done it before. And they may not be finished yet.”
An Arcane Study Of Stars by Sydney J. Shields
“Claudia Jolicoeur should never have set foot at Cygnus. Rejected from the occult university of her dreams, she was meant to live as the wife of an old man, a pawn sacrificed for her father’s debts. But Claudia possesses rare celestial magic, powerful enough to draw the attention of a desperate demon named Dorian. He offers her a bargain: her acceptance to Cygnus in exchange for his freedom. She takes it. As Claudia delves into the mystery of Dorian’s prison of stars, she faces one obstacle above all: Cassius MacLeod, Cygnus’s brilliant and cruel academic star. Their fierce rivalry quickly turns into something darker, more dangerous, and impossibly seductive. Caught in the center of an ancient curse, Claudia must navigate a web of desire, power, and deception. She will have to decide who she can trust, and who she might have to kill to survive.”
The Sea Spinner by Julie Johnson
“Rhya Fleetwood’s life changed forever in the battle of Fyremas. Her untrained power burns with grief and simmering rage, crackling with every pulse. Caeldera lies in ruins, her friends are dead or wounded, and Pendefyre, their newly crowned king, keeps his distance. The Remnant of Fire has his own burdens, his kingdom, his people, and his relentless need for revenge. When fate leads Rhya to the Water Court, she is forced to confront the limits of her power and the complexity of her relationships. King Soren of Llyr is nothing like Pendefyre, calm where Penn is fiery, measured where he is impulsive. The more Rhya learns about the magic that binds them, the more uncertain she becomes about her future as a Remnant, her deepest desires, and her place in the coming war. Enemies circle ever closer, and every choice has consequences. Rhya must navigate her powers, her heart, and the danger surrounding her before it is too late. Her life and everything she holds dear are at stake.”
Japanese Gothic by Kylie Lee Baker
“In 2026, Lee can’t remember exactly where he hid the body, but he can remember the blood. Hiding in his father’s centuries-old home in Japan, he senses something wrong within himself, tied to his mother’s disappearance nearly a decade ago. In 1877, Sen, a female samurai, patrols the borders of her home, determined to protect her family after the abolition of the samurai class. With her father returned from war, changed and distant, survival feels impossible. When a mysterious door connects their worlds, Lee and Sen find each other, both searching for answers. But the creaking old house they share holds secrets far beyond anything they could have imagined, and the past and present collide in ways that threaten to unravel everything they know.”
