Halloween On The Streaming Services

Last year, I shared my top 3 favourite Halloween movies across different streaming services. I wanted to do the same this year as I’ve discovered many great new ones.

I’ve broken away from last year’s mould of including only one horror, family-friendly, and mystery movie. Instead, I have added TV shows among the options. There were so many options and I hope there is still something for everyone!

Netflix

Fear Street Trilogy:

If you’re in the mood to stream a blend of slasher chills and supernatural thrills, Fear Street is a must-watch! Inspired by R.L. Stine’s book series of the same name, this film series dives deep into the haunting history of a cursed town. Across these three movies (with a fourth on the way!), a group of teenagers sets out to end the sinister curse that’s haunted their home for centuries. It’s creepy, suspenseful, and packed with twists—perfect for a horror marathon!

Goosebumps:

If you are not the biggest fan of gore-style horror, but still a fan of R.L. Stine, The 2015 Goosebumps film is a perfect family-friendly alternative. In this film, we are following R.L. Stine, his teenage daughter Hannah and his neighbour Zach. As they try to save their town after Stine’s monstrous creations come to life and wreak havoc. With familiar creatures from the book series on the loose, this movie combines scares and laughs.

The Midnight Club:

This is a chilling, mystery-thriller series set in a hospice. Where eight terminally ill teens / young adults form a group called “The Midnight Club.” Each night, they gather to share spine-tingling stories that add a supernatural layer to the show’s overarching mystery. Based on Christopher Pike’s 1994 novel, this is an eerie atmosphere with haunting tales within tales. It is perfect for book lovers who like layered storytelling.

We Have A Ghost:

An amazing original from Netflix. We meet the Presleys when they move into an old house, the youngest son Kevin discovers a ghost in the attic. Naming him “Ernest”. Determined to help Ernest recover his past, Kevin teams up with his neighbour to uncover the truth surrounding Ernest’s death. And uncovers the family mysteries along the way. With suspense, warmth, and a few twists, this ghost story is about friendship, healing, and the bonds that reach beyond the grave.

Disney+
