Putting The Look Together
I purchased the wig, top, and cape from eBay for just under £18 altogether.
I started with the eyes, applying primer to my eyelids and letting it set. While waiting, I used a Real Techniques sponge to pat powder under my eyes to catch any fallout. A little concealer on my lids served as a base before I packed on black eyeshadow. It doesn’t need to be perfect—she’s been dead for 300 years, so streaks are fine! Using the same eyeshadow on an eyeliner brush, I applied it under my eyes and smoked it out slightly. Black eyeliner on the top and bottom waterlines, a coat of mascara, and false lashes completed the look.
Once I was satisfied with the eyes, I wiped away the powder and applied primer to my face. I swiped Makeup Revolution stick foundation over my skin, then used a damp sponge to buff it in with Rimmel foundation. This full-coverage technique, which I found on Nikkitutorials’ YouTube channel, works well for me. I touched up any redness with concealer and finished with powder applied using a big fluffy brush.
For the brows, I tried to make them fuller like Sarah Sanderson’s but filled them in as best I could, as brows aren’t my strong suit.
Next, I applied blush to the apples of my cheeks and finished with NYX’s Cherry Skies Liquid Suede, a perfect balance between red and burgundy. Finally, I used black eyeliner to add a mole under my lip, just like Sarah’s.
I had so much fun putting this Sarah Sanderson look together and I’m looking forward to posting the others I have planned. I’d love to see if you too will be doing a makeup look from The Hocus Pocus movie, you can find me on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter / X or comment below!
