Megababe The Smoothie Deo Deodorant // The August Review

As I was loving the under pits mask, I of course had to try the Megababe The Smoothie Deo Deodorant. We are half way through The August Review. Have any products taken your fancy?

Megababe The Smoothie Deo Deodorant – £8.00

The brand describes the product as:

“Made to bring balance to your skin’s pH and stop microbes from thriving, it’s laced with lactobacillus ferment, a healthy probiotic, that signals your skin to produce and regulate good microbes for added odour protection. We’re about to get even more science-y up in here: zinc ricinoleate breaks down and absorbs odoru without interfering with skin’s natural flora; magnesium hydroxide balances pH and fight odour-causing bacteria; arrowroot absorbs wetness; xylityl sesquicaprylate acts as a potent antimicrobial and deodoriser; triethyl citrate inhibits the sweat-producing bacteria enzyme; finally, coconut, vitamin E, jojoba and sunflower seed oils nourish, soothe and hydrate your skin for a comfortable finish”.

Pros:

  • Lovely, long lasting smell.
  • Compact.
  • Soothing.
  • Hydrating.
  • Doesn’t leave white marks.

Cons:

  • On the pricier side.
  • Can pill under the arms.

The Verdict:

As the mask was working wonders on my underarms, I decided to try the brand’s deodorant. I am 50/50 about this. Did I love it? Yes! But was it hard to work with?…. Yes.

On hotter days, I find this would pill under my arms. I’d get little flaky bits that wouldn’t sink into the skin. Wearing dark colours, it was not a cute look.

I also find this expensive for a deodorant. But understand that the price reflects everything the brand has put into it. It has me torn. I think I’ll only pick this up when its cooler and when I have an event or trip. That way, I never have to worry about dry under arms or white marks.

As always, thanks for reading…
