‘Jump Start into January’ – Book Bingo

Welcome to the “Jump Start into January” book bingo board! I’m thrilled to finally share this with you! Over the past year, I created these Bookopoly games, drawing inspiration from many different content creators. I loved making those boards, but this year, I wanted to try something new.

Inspired by the bingo boards from Steph Loves‘ – Final Book Support Group, I decided to have 9 prompts for each month. And with each month having a different goal.

The Bingo Board

This bingo card is designed to motivate reading in the new year. To win, players must complete 3 squares in a row – horizontally, vertically, or diagonally – by reading books that fulfill specific criteria. These criteria include reading the 12th book on their 2025 list, a 2024 release on their TBR they missed last year, a book under 500 pages from their physical TBR, the last book they bought, a book from a series on their TBR, a debut novel, a book with "new" in the title, and their oldest book on their TBR. One square is a free choice, allowing players flexibility. This bingo card, created by @afictionalplace, is a fun and engaging way to challenge yourself to read diversely and achieve reading goals in the new year.

Recommendations

This image is a card that features recommendations for a book with "new" in the title. Some recommendations for this square include "The New House" by Tess Stimson, "The New Couple in 5B" by Lisa Unger, "The New Girl" by Ingrid Alexandra, "The New Life" by Tom Crewe, "The Newcomer" by Mary Kay Andrews, and "I'll Take New York" by Miranda Dickinson. These are just a few suggestions, and the possibilities are endless for this exciting bingo prompt.

Each month, if there’s a prompt where I can share recommendations, I’ll be sure to do so. This month’s goal is to focus on your own TBR pile. However, if you don’t have a book with “new” in the title, I found a few options on my BorrowBox app. I wanted to provide some library-friendly choices in case you prefer not to purchase a book for the prompt.

TBR / What I Read Cards

I created these boards to help you build your TBR or track what you’ve read.

January’s Goal

I created this bingo board with the hope of jumpstarting my progress on my 25 for 2025 list, as well as tackling my ever-growing physical TBR. January feels like the perfect month to catch up on books that slipped through the cracks last year. I’m aiming for a full house and hope to hit every prompt—but only time will tell!

And that’s the “Jump Start into January” book bingo board! I’d love to hear your thoughts, and if you decide to play along, please tag me on Instagram @afictionalplace.
