Bookopoly – Pride Edition
I wanted to create a Pride Month edition for this month’s Bookopoly board because, when you love to read it’s very easy to pick up books where the main character is either like you, someone you aspire to be or who you’d think you’d be in a past life or fantasy world.
I am always looking to expand my reading. I do this by choosing plot lines or characters with historical social movements and moments in the blurb. But that isn’t always a straightforward way and sometimes you need a prompt to research.
If you want to try any of the previous Bookopoly boards I’ve created, click here.

The Rules
Like always, I would suggest using two dice. There is only one rule, to add a roll each time you pass Go!
The Prompts…
- For the Two Income Spaces, we instead have a 30-day buying ban and a 100-day buying ban.
- The two utility properties are the oldest book and the newest book on your TBR.
- Instead of Stations, we are travelling around the UK, or across the world. I use Hiveword’s Random Places Generator to generate a place in the UK or somewhere in the world (whichever you land on). Then you can pick a book set there or by an author from there.
- Instead of Chance cards, we have Social Choice. You can play this in two ways. You could either scroll through the feed of the social media app you’ve landed on until you come across a book already on your physical TBR. Or, you can scroll until the first book you come across
- Instead of Community Chest cards, I chose Book Clubs. There are so many online book clubs, some also meet up in person! I picked Goodreads, BOOKCLUBS, and Meetup. You pick a book club and read the book they have chosen that month. This may encourage readers to join book clubs and find more book friends.
All the other prompts are self-explanatory but please reach out if you would like more guidance.

And that is the Pride Edition of Bookopoly. Please comment below what you have picked for the prompts you’ve landed on, and feel free to make recommendations!

As always, thanks for reading…
