Product Review // October 2013

With my new blogging journey, I’ve loved writing up a product review. I picked these items up on a recent trip to Boots, where I tried to be good! I’d contemplated buying these items for a while. With offers, I couldn’t refuse!

Bourjois Paris Delice de Poudre Bronzing Powder.

This says its; “filled with glints of sunshine”.

I purchased this in shade 51, which I believe to be the lightest shade.

This product smells like chocolate. Only a hint, but it;s amazing. The sunshine reference refers to gold flecks it has inside. Which I think is lovely.

It isn’t too overbearing for me, more a natural glimmer rather than a full shimmer look.

This has a very fine consistency. When using a contour brush it picked up a lot of the product. So I recommend a light touch. This has a soft blend and can come off very natural or be buildable for a stronger contour.

Bourjois Paris Blusher in Rose Frisson or Shade 54.

I have always found that a light rose colour suits me. This does look very dark at first opening, but it is subtle.

I love the packaging. This comes with a little curved blusher brush that fits right inside the pot. I like that this was in a pot compared to the bronzer which is in a cardboard folder. I find it’s more sturdy when in the bottom of my bag. Also, I don’t have to worry so much about it leaking.

The colour has a little glimmer rather than shimmer, almost dewy looking. Unlike the Bourjois bronzer, it doesn’t take too much up on the brush. Making it buildable. I am very happy with how this product is working for me. I don’t have to use a lot of effort to blend, and it stays put all day. This is one I’d repurchase.

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumper in Clear.

I used to use a lip plumper when I was in my mid-teen years before converting to lipstick.

I’m very 50/50 about this product.

The main thing is that it works. My lips look a lot fuller. I am not crazy about the smell, I can’t really describe it. Sometimes I can bear it and other times I can’t.

It takes a little while for my lips to start tingling which at that time the gloss feels very thick on my lips.

It comes across a little sticky which can be off putting. I started to layer this on top of my lipstick. If you buy the clear one, I do recommend cleaning the lip tool before putting it back in the tube. As not to compromise the colour. This did come in a variety of colours, but I brought clear to see the effect first. For me, this is an okay product but I don’t think I will buy it again.

I would love to know if you have these products and what you think about them.

As always, thanks for reading…
